Topic 1:

How antibodies are created and what they typically are used for in research.

Speaker: Sylvia de Bruin

Application Scientist of Molecular Devices

Abstract:

Antibodies are invaluable tools in the life sciences. Are you interested in how antibodies in vitro are created and for what types of assays they can be used? Then this seminar is for you. We will cover some of the basics of how antibodies are created in research labs around the world and how you can use them in your research for instance to determine the levels of viruses, antigens with an Elisa as well as cell based assays, including in organoid and spheroid 3D assays.

Topic 2:

Development and application of monoclonal antibodies

Speaker: Engla Merizka, M.Biomed

Head of Sub Division RnD CBTS of Indonesian Red Cross

Lecturer at Faculty of Farmacy and Science UHAMKA

Abstract:

Monoclonal antibodies can be used for diagnostic tests and therapy. The types of monoclonal antibodies that can be developed can be derived from murine techniques (mice), chimeric monoclonal antibodies or fully human monoclonal antibodies. Currently, the development of monoclonal antibodies in Indonesia has not been widely carried out, one of the issues is the lack of human resources and the components used for the manufacture of monoclonal antibodies. In this webinar I will discuss monoclonal manufacturing techniques and examples of their applications.
